Treatment for Wrinkles

Treatment

Effective wrinkle treatment consists of the following:

Topical Retinoids:

Retinoids are obtained from vitamin A. They are quite effective in minimizing fine lines and crow’s feet. Sometimes burning, itching or redness is accompanied with retinoids application. Tretinoin (Renova, etc.) and Tazarotene (Avage, etc.) are the commonly available topical retinoids.

Anti-wrinkle Cream:

The market is full of anti-wrinkle creams and lotions of different varieties. The most important thing to keep in mind while selecting them is the type of ingredients it contains. Kinetin, alpha hydroxyl acids, retinol, coenzyme Q10, antioxidants, etc. are the main components of these creams or lotions.

Anti-wrinkle creams claim to minimize wrinkles significantly.

Dermabrasion

It is a surgical process of removing the superficial layer of skin with a rotating brush. The leveling or planing removes the skin’s superficial layer and a new layer grows that is free of wrinkles. This process is painful and requires a few weeks for results to actually appear.

Micro-dermabrasion

It is an exfoliating process similar to dermabrasion except that less pain is experienced and less skin surface is removed. It is done with the help of vacuum suction where aluminum oxide crystals are sandblasted on the skin. Repeated sessions are needed to maintain desired transient results.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peeling is done by a qualified cosmetologist who applies chemicals like glycolic acid on the skin and then removes the thin superficial layer of the skin. The new underlying skin is smooth and free of wrinkles.

Botox or Botulinum Toxin Type A

Botox is injected in the affected area and it effectively decreases the wrinkles making the skin smooth and wrinkle-free. Botox injections are needed every four to five months to maintain the desired results.

Face Lift

In this process excess skin mass and fat are tied to the underlying connective tissues and muscles. The wrinkles are removed and the results last for 8-10 years.

Natural Treatment

Wrinkles can be cured by some effective home remedies. Some of them are as follows:

  1. Massaging with coconut water in the night, leaving it overnight and rinsing in the morning.
  2. Massaging with pure castor oil or coconut oils helps prevent wrinkles.
  3. Rubbing pineapple core on the face for 5-10 minutes is also helpful in reducing wrinkles.
  4. Lemon juice may be applied to get a wrinkle-free and blemish-free complexion.
  5. Applying a fine paste made with sugarcane juice and some turmeric onto the face and then washing it off after 5-6 minutes helps reduce wrinkles.
