Glossary
Pelvic floor muscles: A group of muscles at the base of the pelvis. They help support the bladder, urethra, rectum and (in women) vagina and uterus.Constipation: The inability to pass bowel movements easily.
Bowel: Small or large intestine. The small intestine is sometimes called the small bowel. The large intestine is also called the colon.
Incontinence: Inability to control the flow of urine from the bladder (urinary incontinence) or the escape of stool from the rectum (fecal incontinence).
