Medical Practitioner Qualification

Medical Practitioner means a person who holds a degree/diploma of a recognized institution and is registered by Medical Council of respective State of India. The term Medical Practitioner would include Physician, Specialist and Surgeon.

A Medical Practitioner is a professional holding recognized qualifications such as MBBS, MD, MS, DNB, MCh, FRCS, FRCP, MRCP, etc. qualifications from a recognized university in India, that has been approved by MCI (Medical Council of India). In addition, degrees such as BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSMS are some of the alternative medicine degrees approved to be an authorized medical practitioner.

Apart from these there are medical professionals possessing degrees such as RMP, BAM which are not recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India) and thereby such claims are not admissible by Insurance and subsequently it leads to repudiation of such a claim.
