What is the Prognosis of ComplexRegional Pain Syndrome?
Currently there is no cure for CRPS.However, most cases get better within the first year. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to improvement of symptoms.
If not diagnosed or treated, CRPS canspread to other extremities as well and the patient becomes completelyincapacitated due to the condition. Physical rehabilitation becomes verydifficult and pain management can be complicated by dependency on opiate drugs.
