Glossary

Collagen: It is the most abundant protein found in the bones, muscles, skin, and tendons, and it forms a scaffold to provide strength and structure.

Hypopigmentation: The loss of skin color caused by melanocyte or melanin depletion, or a decrease in the amino acid tyrosine.

Cryotherapy: The local or general use of low temperatures to treat a variety of benign and malignant tissue damage.

Erythema: It is the redness of the skin or mucous membranes, caused by increased blood flow in superficial capillaries (hyperemia).

Pruritus: Severe itching of the skin.
