Mastoid Process: A protrusion of the temporal bone behind the ear to which neck muscles are attached and connected by air passages to the middle ear.Maxilla-Occipital Junction: The junction between the maxillae (large, paired bones, which are united to form the upper jaw) and the occipital bone (unpaired bone which covers the back of the head or occiput).
