Glossary

Mastoid process: Round, honeycombed bony prominence located behind the ear.

Ossicle: A small bone, in this case in the middle ear.

Tympanic membrane: The eardrum.

Tympanoplasty: Repair or reconstruction of a damaged eardrum.
