Neurogenic bladder is a problem in which a person suffers from urinary incontinence and inability to empty the bladder due to a brain, spinal cord or nerve condition as in cauda equine syndrome.

2. Is cauda equina painful?

Severe low back pain is one of the symptoms of cauda equina. However the spectrum of CES ranges from extreme pain to complete paralysis.

3. Does one recover completely after surgery?

Some symptoms like bladder control, bowel function, and sexual function may take time to normalize or in some cases may persist throughout life.
