Blood: The blood is the fluid in the body that contains red and white cells as well as platelets, proteins, plasma and other elements. It is transported throughout the body by the circulatory system.

Blood Type: A category used to describe a person's blood according to the kinds of proteins present on the surface of the red blood cells.

Antigen: A substance that induce an immune response in the body.

Hemolytic disease: Hemolytic disease of the newborn is a condition in which an excessive number of red blood cells in the fetus are destroyed by the mother''s antibodies. It is typically caused by Rh incompatibility.
