Women More Likely to Take Sickies

In a recent research it has been found that women are more likely than men to pull a sickie and also give embarrassing excuses for the unplanned leaves.

The most embarrassing excuse given to the boss being none other than "women's issues."

Office-goers who feel issues regarding their home and family lives are interfering with their work happen to take more sick leaves than others, reveals a new study.

Research carried out for Sovereign Health Care found employees were more likely to take an unwarranted day off this month than at any other time of year, reports the Telegraph.

From the 1,360 people who participated in the poll, more than half (56 percent) of the female participants admitted to pulling a sickie when not really ill, as apposed to just a third of the men.

The poll even brought into light rather extreme reasons given for absence including, "My dog has fallen and broken all its legs," and "There's a squirrel in my lounge," among others.
