 Woman Addicted to Petrol

A 20-year old American woman has revealed that she is addicted to petrol and drinks up to 12 tablespoons every day.

Identified only as Shannon, the 20-year old will be appearing on the reality show My Strange Addiction where she has been filmed drinking petrol from a red plastic can. In the promo aired for the episode, she says that the petrol tastes similar to a tangy sauce and though it burns her throat, it makes her feel good.

Her mother revealed that Shannon drank nearly 19 litres of petrol last year. "When I first found out Shannon drinks gasoline, I didn't believe it. But when I smelt it on her breath, it was more or less confirmed", she said.

Petrol is treated as a poison by a number of health agencies worldwide and is known to cause burns, vomiting, diarrhea, and may also prove to be fatal.
