What Difference Can Blow-Drying Do To Your Hair? Try These Expert Tips!
Blow-drying hair had always been the same – whip your hair upside down and blitz until it's sort of dry, then just keep on blasting from all angles until it's not wet anymore.
It’s easy but not correct. Get to know the techniques on how to blow-dry your hair according to its type.

  • For straight hair, always take the nozzle off. This only flattens the cuticles in the hair more, taking out all shape and body. Use a mousse to help get shape and volume back.
  • Use a heat protectant spray that also has shine. Rough-dry the hair first until 85% dry and then go in with a hairdryer in a downward angle to maintain and achieve maximum shine.
  • It's important to keep as much moisture in your locks as possible when blow-drying curly hair to avoid frizz.
  • For curly hair, Twist individual sections of curls with the oil paired with instant calmer in, to give structure to your curls. Always work with the hair's natural movement and use a diffuser on the hairdryer.
  • For tighter curls, blow it out in sections using a round bristle brush and then pin the created curl while you do the rest of your hair before letting it down.
  • If you have naturally thick tresses, use serum through your hair and blow-dry from damp, not wet, as this will weigh your hair down more.
  • Avoid blow-drying your hair upside down first as the heaviness of wet hair at your roots will prevent volume and lift at the crown.
