West Coast Eagles Star Joshua J. Kennedy Leads Fundraising Campaign for MS Society
Joshua J. Kennedy of the West Coast Eagles, an Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia, has rarely played second fiddle in a season of exceptional performance on his way to the Coleman Medal as the AFL’s leading goal-kicker.
But a recent promotional appearance for the The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Australia (MSWA) has proved that football finals fever is so hot this year that many people are doing whatever they can to get in on the action.

With Kennedy standing by patiently ahead of his team’s blockbuster final against Hawthorn at Domain Stadium, the society’s chief executive Marcus Stafford snatched his moment in the sun.

Mr. Stafford said to the media pack said, “I really am flattered that you’ve all turned out just because I’m here today. Who is this tall bloke with the beard anyway?”

Mr Stafford told how humbled he was to have one of the AFL’s biggest stars as the society’s ambassador as he launched the Ocean Ride for MS from Fremantle to Hillarys on October 18.

“He’s just the most fantastic, grounded individual you could ever meet. JK is a down-to-earth country boy who is loved by everyone. Nothing is too much for him,” he said.

The Ocean Ride will be held over distances of 10km, 30km, 50km, 70km and 90km. Money raised will help provide support and services for people affected with MS.
