Want to Feel What It is Like to be Old? Wear the Age Man Suit

To give you an idea what old age entails, and sensitize the young to difficulties faced by the elderly, scientists from Germany have designed what they call ‘The Age Man Suit’.

As one gets into this suit, hearing dims, vision blurs, body become heavy, knees and joints become painful and actually walking up and down can make the wearer breathless.

A new survey has revealed that the younger generation, under the age of 25, claims that people start their old age at 54

The suit is made of ear-protectors which suppress hearing, extra padding to make the knee and elbow joints feel stiff and exactly simulates the physical experiences of old age.

The designer’s objective is to make people sensitive to the medical and social needs of senior people.
