UN research symposium To Focus on Open source and Open Medicine

A research symposium titled ‘Challenging Intellectual Property’ will be analyzed and explored at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The Symposium will look into the aspects of Free/Open Source Software and other associated epitomes of knowledge production in economic development. It will also gauge the efficacy of available global financing mechanisms, already on the table, desirous of bringing a change in health research and development, and enable affordable drugs to the poor nations.

The speakers in this symposium will include: 1. Rishab Aiyer Ghosh, Senior Researcher, UNU-MERIT 2. Louis-Dominique Ouédraogo, retiring Inspector, the UN Joint Inspection Unit; 3. Tim Hubbard, Head of Human Genome Analysis, The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, UK; 4.Renato da Silveira Martini, Director-General, ITI (National Institute of IT, Brazil). Source: Eureka
