Metformin taken OD helps in type 2 diabetes

Latest health claims are that is the medicine metformin is taken once daily it is safe and effective in type 2 diabetes.

In the words of co-author Dr. Bret Berner, "With this extended-release formula, you can give the patients up to 2000 mg a day. The new formulation, which goes by the brand name Glumetza, seems to improve "patients' tolerability for higher doses."
