Kochi, April 4. Given an awaiting crowd of 80,000 and the humid weather, the few things the thrice defeated one-day English team can feel cheerful about here are a spruced up ayurvedic spa and typical English food.

The fourth one-day cricket match between England and India takes place at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium Thursday. The teams were given a traditional Kerala welcome when they arrived from Goa Tuesday on a chartered flight.

Both teams will be here till Saturday morning and will stay at the Taj Malabar Hotel, where the entourage has booked 70 rooms.

"The food they will be served till Thursday will be low on fat and high on carbohydrates and will be in tune with dietary allocations," Thomas George, the second chef of the hotel, told IANS.

"On the day following the match and the next day when they are slated to leave, it would be specialized English food like Shepherd's Pie, various types of grills, salads and also typical Kerala food, which is low on spices," said George.

"So far we have not had any demands from either team with regard to ayurvedic massages. But leaving nothing to chance, we will give both the teams a detailed account of the ayurvedic massages that our spruced up spa has to offer," said Arindam Kunar, general manager of the hotel.

Reports indicate that both the teams are likely to go sightseeing in the plush backwaters on Friday and also visit Willingdon Island, which is the home of the modern port that serves Kochi.
