Allergy Alarm: Sam’s Choice Milk Chocolate Turns Bitter with Undisclosed ‘Nuts’

by Medindia Content Team on Mar 29 2006 7:48 PM

Brach's Confections, Inc. of Dallas, Texas are tough nuts to crack, indeed. Presently, they have withdrawn a batch of production of Sam's Choice Belgian Milk Chocolate Bars, due to the presence of undeclared almonds. This is a precautionary measure to ensure safety for all those who are allergic to almonds that may cause a life threatening reaction upon consumption.

Wal-Mart stores are the distributors of Sam's Choice Belgian Milk Chocolate Bars across America. The batch of chocolates were withdrawn, after it was found that the product containing almonds was distributed without any mention of the presence of almonds on the packaging. A temporary breakdown of their packaging plant had apparently led to this slip up.
