Two Year Old Dies Due To HFMD

In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia a two-year-old boy dies at the hospital after he was admitted showing various symptoms of the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).

This happened in Sarawak state, eastern Malaysia. Totally the disease has killed about eight people including the death of the boy.

The child hailing from the town of Kapit was admitted in the local hospital.

Deputy State Chief Minister George Chan said to the press that the boy passed away after suffering from high fever and vomiting for two days.

The death was confirmed by the hospital authorities that it was due to the hand, foot and mouth disease.

But the officials are not able to track the source of the virus.

The disease affects mainly the children and so far, all the eight children killed were under the age of four and only two of them had been confirmed to die of the Entrovirus 71 (EV71).
