
In line with the International Women's Day celebrations, an exclusive women's clinic has been launched by the Chennai-based Apollo hospitals. Ms. J. Jayalalitha, State Chief Minister, inaugurated the well women health care center on Wednesday.
The health care center would cater to nearly all health problems of the women folk including sub-acute and chronic problems. Of the health problems that haunt women, diseases such as cancer, AIDS, osteoarthritis, deserve special mention.
Another major target of the Apollo Centre of Excellence for Women would be maternal and child health, including prenatal and menopausal care. Furthermore, the main target of the establishment would be targeted at spreading health awareness and training classes for women.
'This is the first of its kind centre in India and the centre will offer state-of-the-art services with latest technologies. Our focus initially is to bring awareness among the women on various diseases and give them necessary training through regular classes,'remarked Preeta Reddy, managing director, Apollo Hospitals.
