21 Year Old Tests Negative for the Human Form Of Bird-Flu

Doctors have cleared a 21 year old man, who tested negative for the human form of the bird-flu. The man was rushed to the Hospital for Infectious Diseases, in Bucharest , after he exhibited flu like symptoms. This man lives in the southwest village of Cetate, where H5N1 had infected the birds in the area.

Further tests are slated to be performed at the Bucharest national laboratory. The Ministry of Health has designated the Bucharest hospital to deal with cases of bird flu with its specially equipped centers.

The deadly H5N1 strain was first found in Romania after domestic fowl in the Danube Delta, were found infected. The virus then spread to Asia, Europe and Africa. It is estimated that at least 92 people, mostly in Southeast Asia have died owing to bird-flu, according to the World Health Organization.
