Indonesian Claims To Have Arrested The Bird Flu.

Bird flu that made news recently due to its wide spreading nature across the world. But now Indonesia claims to have put an end to its spread across the country.

It said that the number of people infected by the disease was reduced and area, which has been infected with the avian flu, had also gone down.

The health minister pointed out that previously there were21 provinces affected with bird flu but now only three areas are infected with bird flu. They are West Java, Jakarta and Banten located in Java island.

The number of cases that are being referred are from these islands.

The minister said that The country was worst affected seven months ago and coming out of this situation was due to the joint effort of the health officials and the will power f the people to get rid of the disease.

The death toll in the country due to the H5N1 strain of the bird flu was reported as 11by the World Health Organization (WHO).

No new cases were reported in the last few weeks and the number of previously affected was also on the steady fall.

As an effort to reduce and control the spread of the disease Indonesia culled and vaccinated millions of poultry across the country.

It has planned to install bio-security device that can detect the early spread of H5N1 strain across the globe with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO).

All this is done to prevent further death among the humans as this can easily mutate in to a deadly strain and cause death of millions of people and result in a pandemic.
