Olive oil protects the heart

Researchers have found that supplementation of olive oil reduced the risk of developing heart attacks.Spanish researchers have found that the phenolic compounds present in olive oil is found to have antioxidant and anticlot factors.

The effect of olive oil on cardiovascular risk patients showed that the phenolic compounds present in olive oil dilated the blood vessels and also increased the Nitric oxide concentration in the blood. Blood vessel dilation helps in reducing the risk of heart attacks and the Nitric oxide has the capacity to scavenge the free radicals which helps in reducing the risk of developing diseases.
