A recent study says that oil from the fishes contains a property that may cure inflammatory conditions like arthritis. Fishes like Mackerel and Salmon, if are taken in a diet supplemented by low doses of aspirin is said to heal people with cardiovascular disease and arthritis. In case of absence of fish, a supplement of fish oil and aspirin will also do the trick.

Trials have shown previously that omega-3 fatty acids in conjunction with daily intake of low dose aspirin works wonder for patients with heart problems. Prompted by such a discovery, scientists had taken up the study of the omega-3 fatty acids and its relation to other diseases. Their study found out a class of lipids called resolvins that are synthesized from the aspirin induced bioactive lipids.

The main bioactive part of this resolvins are called resolving E1 and these are potent regulator of inflammatory conditions in mice. When human beings were tested for the effects of omega-3 fatty acids combination with aspirin, resolving E1 is found to be the receptor that inhibits inflammatory responses.

A team of professionals did the research from Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston and the results were published in the recent issue of the Journal of Experimental Medicine.
