Canada’s Conjoined Twins Growing Normally

by Savitha C Muppala on Mar 10 2007 7:01 PM

In what will be a great relief to the parents of Canada’s conjoined twins and to the public, who have been following the story, doctors have confirmed after days of several tests that the twins are growing normally.

The youngest conjoined twins, known by the names Krista and Tatiana Hogan came into the world with their heads joined. The twins, who are four months of age, portray distinct sleep patterns, vision, hearing and responses to touch.

The girls are presently enjoying a respite after four days of marathon tests. They are slated to undergo an angiography to determine whether a potential separation surgery will be viable. The neurosurgeon attending to them has explained that a separation surgery is fraught with risks.
