A new study has found out that chocolate drinks works as well as some sports drinks like Gatorade. The study partially sponsored by the Dairy and Nutrition Council and conducted by Indiana University suggested found that those in stationery bicycles drinking chocolate milk worked more than 50% longer than those drinking a carbohydrate drink, an effect similar to that offered by sports drinks like Gatorade.

The story was picked up as mainstream news in many news outlets but according to Dr.J. Mercola, a natural health advocate, who runs his blog site www.mercola.com, drinking pasteurized milk or other related content is harmful to consumers.

He added that the void of beneficial bacteria and presence of damaged proteins due to a process called pasteurization are some of the causes for making such drinks harmful for consumption.

A spokeswoman of the Dairy and Nutrition Council have admitted the statement given by Dr. Mercola but also said that the study does not have the final say about the benefit as it is yet to be completed. The results of the current study, have however contradicted to the one that was found in an early study.
