Naked truths and Basic Instincts

Fantasies and thoughts of erotic pictures and sensuous pleasures beseechingly captures the focus of a man and holds him in rapt attention and causes a man to file away the first impressions indelibly in the recesses of his mind says scientists who conducted a study on heterosexual men, heterosexual women, homosexual men and bisexual women in groups of ten each.

The study shows that if a concealed image of female nude or sexually arousing picture is briefly shown to heterosexual men by actually cancelling out vision of one eye's image by presenting a specific high contrast image to the other eye the men are still able to focus and find their point of reference of the abstract figure. This intense focus stimulated by nude or erotic images showed itself in women as well reports the study conducted by Cognitive neuroscientist Sheng He of the University of Minnesota and his colleagues.

Each individual was asked to view pictures that were specifically pointed at each individual eye. The scientists could cancel the image of one eye by presenting a highly contrasting image to the other eye creating a situation were the eye is baffled by two images which then creates an abstract image called 'Gabor patch', as a result of the competition created by two images. In simple words the volunteer does not see anything but a corrupted jumbled image When scientists then slipped an erotic picture of a nude into this cancelled image slot according to the sexual orientation of the person it was found after ver 32 trials that they re able to detect the orientation of the 'Gabor patches' when it was shown again in the slot occupied formerly by an invisible nude image.

Surprisingly this focus was not sustained if the volunteers were shown the nude photos consciously according to the researcher's report published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, USA. It could be probably because roving eyes cannot hold a focused gaze being difficult to hold focus on one spot. Or it could be the taboos and moral ethics that curb the individual which makes him not to look at it for long.

However, it cannot be denied or ignored now that the human minds are deliberately tuned to the gripping influence of fantasies and anticipates and detects an unseen sexual encounter.
