The Spanish flu,thought to have been triggered off by unhygienic conditions and overcrowding, caused millions of deaths all over the world and is not expected to attack again.But the recent spate of bird flu in several nations has caused scientists to increase their efforts to prepare to combat the disease if it transmits into humans.This is good news because scientists were concerned that the virus was immune to the body'sdefences. Now it has been determined by working with mice that the immune system can be made to attack the virus by a vaccine.
