West Bengal- Four villages belonging to West Bengal's North 24, parganas District, is reeling under the onslaught of a 'puzzling' fever, which has affected nearly 2000 people. The symptoms point towards a possible Chikungunya outbreak.
District Chief Medical Officer, Kusum Adhikari said, though the symptoms are very close to those of chikungunya, yet, doubts can be confirmed only after the results of the serological tests arrive.
Health officials witnessed public outrage during a visit to the affected areas, at alleged apathy on the part of the government to institute preventive measures. Presently, medical camps have been enabled in all the villages.
