Rajasthan is reporting a spurt in malaria and dengue cases with a large number of people being treated in hospitals in this city and other areas.

Over 200 malaria cases were identified in the government owned SMS Hospital here while 190 people are said to be suffering from dengue at present.

On Monday alone, 11 new cases of malaria and nine dengue cases were reported in the hospital.

Over and above these, 41 malaria and 61 dengue cases were so far identified in J.K. Lone hospital here.

Although the state government has to date denied any malaria or dengue related deaths, unconfirmed reports put the death toll at 12 in the capital city.

"More than one-third people coming for pathological examinations are malaria or dengue positive," said a doctor Tuesday here.

Karauli, Bharatpur, Alwar, Sikar, Jodhpur and Barmer are other places, which have reported large number of malaria and dengue cases.
