While the influence of the West has brought about radical changes in business with tangible growth in Asian countries, the region is also coming up with many negative fallout of a jet setting pace, so much a part of the western legacy. Statistics show that Japan is heading for a demographic crisis, with a rampant spread of mental health problems.

The plummeting birth rate in Japan is palpable, and is attributed to the high stress in the corporate working environment. Sadly, despite being one-up on innovation and spearheading trends in technology, the dwindling Japanese population is a cause of concern. Infact this is one of the reasons for Japan being the Nation with highest number of suicides

The hire and fire western influence has led to a world of insecurity amongst people. A spokesman for the Mental Health Institute says, "People tend to be individualized under the new working patterns. When people worked in teams they were happier."
