Muslim Leaders Urge Community to Join Anti-Polio Drive

Muslim leaders of Deoband, Meerut and Delhi have issued a joint appeal to the community to participate in the pulse polio campaign to prevent children from becoming a prey to the crippling disease.

Clerics of Darul Uloom at Deoband in Saharanpur, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in New Delhi, city Qazi Zenur Sajedeen, Naib Qazi Jenur Rashdeen and other Muslim leaders signed the joint appeal asking the people of the community to get polio drops administered to children under five years of age.

Meerut Divisonal Commisioner Dev Dutt today went to Rashdeen's house and administered polio drops to children of the household in this connection while District Magistrate Mukesh Meshram accompanied by some religious leaders visited Muslim localities with a pulse-polio team.
