According to the investigations conducted by the General of Health Debbie Chin herbal products imported from Asia tested positive for containing harmful drugs in erectile dysfunction and weight loss prescription medicines.

After routine investigations Medsafe identified five remedies that contained drugs which could be fatal to some individuals. Some contained sildenafil, the erectile dysfunction drug which could also interfere with some heart medications.

Medicines which are used to treat obese patients contained sibutramine which also increased blood pressure and heart rate in some people. It should be strictly avoided by patients with glaucoma, mental illness and those with severe liver or kidney problems. These drugs should not be used in combination with drugs used for migraine treatments and antidepressants.
