NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are providing dental service for the homeless people.

It is officially launched on the 20th of July. It is mainly to cater to the need of the people living in the streets and those living in temporary accommodation. The service consists of two dentists and support staffs. According to a recent survey it was found that homeless people have high levels of tooth decay and statistics show that 30% of these people have false tooth.

Archie Stoddart director of Shelter Scotland welcomed the new service. Stoddart said that it is very difficult for these people to get access to a range of medical services, including dentists, doctors and even pharmacies. Hence any kind of service for the homeless people would be of great help to them.
