Jammu and Kashmir health department today advised people to take precautionary measures in view of the likelihood of increase in water-borne diseases like diarrhoea and jaundice during summer. The people have been asked to boil drinking water for at least ten minutes and wash raw vegetables and fruit thoroughly before eating, an official spokesman said. He said the health department has also advised people to wash hands with soap after going to toilet and before eating. They should also use chlorine tablets, the spokesman said.
