Mcd Takes Steps To Prevent, Control Dengue

In the wake of detection of the dengue spreading Aedes mosquito in some localities of the capital, the MCD at a high-level meeting today discussed steps to be taken for prevention and control of the disease.

Chaired by MCD Standing Committee Chairman Jaikishan Sharma, the meeting decided on various steps, including creating awareness among public to take measures to prevent breeding of mosquitoes and procurement of insecticides, spray material and necessary medicines for treatment of dengue.

Special arrangements are also being made in municipal health institutions to detect and treat dengue, the MCD said in a release.

The MCD will also spread awareness through TV, FM, radio and newspaper ads and undertake a door-to-door survey in order to check mosquito breeding, the release said.
