Money Allocated for Child Welfare Programme In Kashmir

Srinagar, June 4. Nearly Rs 3.66 crore has been sanctioned for providing nutrition to children in 1,703 Aanganwari centres in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district during the current fiscal, Social Welfare Minister Haji Nisar Ali said today.

A total of 1,010 Aanganwari centres are functional in the district while 693 more are being set up during the current fiscal, Ali told a meeting of social welfare officers of the district.

Work was underway for building 31 model Aanganwari centres in the district, he said.

A total of 2,629 Aanganwari centres have been set up in Udhampur, Jammu, Doda and Kathua districts of Jammu province which will be manned by 2,422 workers and helpers. So far, 2,100 candidates have been appointed for this. PTI AMS RHL 06041345 DEL
