Health Services Remain Affected In Kanpur

Health services in various hospitals affiliated to GSVM medical college in Kanpur remained affected today as the medicos' protest against the OBC quota in elite educational institutions entered the 11th day here.

Junior doctors and students were continuing with the protest against Centre's decision to implement 27 per cent quota for OBCs in higher centres of learning, representatives of agitating doctors said.

However, sources at the GSVM medical college refuted this and claimed that the hospitals were functioning 'smoothly' and senior doctors were attending the patients at both emergency and Out Patient Department.

Operations arranged earlier were also performed as per schedule, they said.
