Medicos visit religious place to drum up support
Agitating medicos today sought divine intervention in their anti-quota stir as they prayed to God to bless the leaders, who were pushing for OBC reservation in elite educational institutions, with wisdom.

Junior doctors of Post Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research and Government Medical College went to Mansa Devi shrine and Gurudwara Nada Sahib to pray to God to give "wisdom" to those at the helm of affairs, PGIMER Association of Resident Doctors Vice President Dr Anindya Banerjee said.

They also used the occassion to drum up support for their agitation by engaging in a campaign to educate devotees about the protest.

Meanwhile, health services remained affected in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh though emergency services were not affected.

The OPD services in the GMCH had been suspended to keep the operation of emergency services effective as the junior doctors continued their relay fast.

The doctors conducted special clinics at the PGIMER, officials said adding that the critical services including ICUs and OTs were maintained by senior faculty.

Several patients were treated today by handful of consultants at OPDs at the institute, officials added.

Meanwhile, the GMCH drafted a new schedule to run emergency services.

The requirements of the present scenario mandate abolition of reservation, supplemented by positive efforts for achievement of “basic needs and survival mandate” of people of India at large. The matter ultimately boils down to a choice between Article 21 of the Constitution on one hand and the undesirable requirements of reservation on the other, i.e. between basic needs and reservation. We can afford to allow unemployment to exist if we can feed our entire population. But we cannot afford to allow even a single person to die of hunger, much less by committing suicide due to starvation, by giving priority to job reservations to weaker sections. The basic needs and survival requirements are most important and must be dealt on a priority basis.

Job reservations should be there in all fields.I completely support PM & all the politicians for promoting it. Let's start reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent quota for Muslims & 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST . Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. Boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. Four hit by an OBC player should be considered a six and a six hit by an OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. Rules can be changed so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player.Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. There can be reservation in Government jobs too. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country. Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward. Lets show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country.Let's be proud of being an INDIAN...
