Six-year-old Ben Michaels was suffering from a condition called amblyopia or severe lazy eye syndrome from the age of 4. However playing videogames has now cured him of this condition, The Daily Mail is reporting.
Ben played Mario Kart on a Nintendo DS for two hours every day along with his twin brother following the advice of Ken Nischal, a consultant at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London.
Just one week after he started playing Mario with a patch over his good eye, Ben's vision improved by about 250%.
If Ben's condition had been left untreated, he was at risk of losing his eyesight.
