Six-year-old Ben Michaels was suffering from a condition called amblyopia or severe lazy eye syndrome from the age of 4.

Just one week after he started playing Mario with a patch over his good eye, Ben’s vision improved by about 250%.
“When he started he could not identify our faces with his weak eye,” Ben’s mother, Maxine Michaels, told the newspaper. “Now he can read with it, although he is still a way off where he out to be. He was very cooperative with the patch, it had phenomenal effect and we’re very pleased.”
If Ben’s condition had been left untreated, he was at risk of losing his eyesight.
