Usual Recommendations Expected in US Federal Dietary Guidelines
The new federal dietary guidelines which will be released today in the United States is expected to provide the usual recommendations such as avoiding sugar, salt and fatty items while increasing green vegetables and fruits in your diets.
A team of 13 researchers have spent the last five years looking into various ways of gaining maximum health benefits from our eating habits. The committee submitted a report to the US Department of Agriculture admitting that it has become very difficult for families to eat healthy in the country.

One of the former members of the scientific committee, Marion Nestle said that one of the major reasons for the drop in healthy diet is because people tend to overeat at restaurants.

“There's loads of research that shows that people confronted with large portions will eat more. The committee made a really big point about how it was impossible for individuals to make healthy food choices, even if they wanted to, in the current food environment”, she added.
