by Rajashri on Aug 26 2009 8:21 PM

In what is welcome news, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has expelled two senior students from the hostel after they were found to be ragging three new students.

The expelled students are in 3rd and 7th semester of MBBS. "They have been expelled from the hostel, but will continue to attend classes,'' a senior administrative officer told the Times of India. The decision to expel the students was taken following a report in the incident by a high level committee, headed by dean Dr Rani Kumar.

"Seniors have been asked to maintain discipline in hostels, especially at night. They have been told that no fresher should be found in their rooms," a doctor revealed, adding that there has been no complaint made by the three freshers who were supposedly ragged.
