In a bizarre case, doctors in Chhattisgarh removed a towel from a woman believed to have been accidentally stuck in her intestine following a caesarian section three years ago. Sabnam Praveen, 30, was admitted to the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Bilaspur town after complaining of severe stomach pain that had lasted for three years. Doctors, led by Dr Neeraj Sindey, operated on her and found a towel, with parts of it rotted away, in her intestine.
Her husband, Nassibuddin, said that he had spent over Rs 1,00,000 traveling to various hospitals without any success. He revealed that his family will be launching a lawsuit a doctor of a mission hospital in Ambikapur town since it has been there that she had undergone he caesarian section.
