Tips for Better Skin Care This Summer
The onset of summer triggers a number of skin problems as sun damage leads to wrinkles, premature aging of the skin, dryness and many other skin problems. Kaya Skin Clinic’s Sangeeta Amladi has come up with some tips to take care of your skin this summer.
Select the right sun screen: Selecting the right sun screen is key to prevent harmful sun rays from damaging your skin. There are wide varieties of sun screens available in the market, each with different benefits. SPF (Sun protection factor) 30 has been found to be the best sun screen for Indian skin and applying it 20-30 minutes before stepping out into the sun will provide protection from the UVA and UVB rays.

Follow a routine: Regular cleansing, toning and moisturizing, at least twice a day, can help protect your skin from dry air-conditioned homes to walks in the steamy and sweaty weather outside.

Hair: Avoid using any kind of chemical and hair styling tool as your hair will be lacking moisture. Switch to a gentler shampoo as shampooing often leads to loss of shine and moisture. Using a mixture of coconut oil, castor and olive oil to massage your hair will also keep it nourished.

Feet: Wearing an open sandal will be help avoid ‘smelly feet’ while applying sunscreen and moisturizer is also key to ensure that you avoid sun burn. Applying a foot powder will help soak up excessive moisture, which is a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria; while going for a pedicure once every week will also help keep your feet smooth.
