Texas Has The Worst Percentage in Terms of Health Insurance
The former Republican governor Rick Perry feels that poor Texans are happy without health insurance. Texas has between 20 – 22% who lacks health insurance. Approximately one million needy Texans do not have health insurance and plus a few million who are moderately poor also don’t have health covers. According to former governor Rick Perry Texans pretty much enjoy being uninsured.
“Texas has been criticized for having a large number of uninsured, but that’s what Texans wanted. They did not want a large government program forcing everyone to purchase insurance,” said Perry at an interview with New Hampshire Journal.

Texans may not be very happy with Obamacare because it’s socialism, but Governor Perry decided against expanding the federal Medicaid program even though a million very poor Texans fell into the Medicaid expansion gap. The gap is when a person makes too much money to be eligible for Medicaid – more than $4,500 a year, at the same time he is too poor to qualify for subsidies and be able to afford premiums.

About five million other Texans are uninsured who are not in the coverage gap. Some are eligible for subsidies but haven’t bought coverage. Some are Medicaid-eligible kids whose parents or guardians might not know they’re eligible. Some are undocumented immigrants who will never, ever, ever be eligible for health insurance in U.S. America.

Uninsured low-income Texans will have to just keep on being psyched to be uninsured, because having health insurance takes away all of your freedom, is what they have been led to believe.
