Telangana Government Launches First of Its Kind Healthcare mobile Application
In an effort to empower the citizens with convenient access to healthcare, the Telangana government launched a dedicated healthcare application on Monday. The new ministry of health and family welfare application is powered by Mahindra Comviva, a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra and the global leader in providing mobility solutions.
The Healthcare Innovation Cell (HIC) of the state health ministry conceptualized the application. It was stated that the application is the first of its kind for any ministry of health and family welfare in India and is established to bring a paradigm shift in the healthcare industry by making health care facilities more accessible to the people.

The application contains a list of about 800 government healthcare centers present in various cities. At present available for Android users, the application will be made available in both Telugu and English. It can be downloaded for free from the Google play store.

The health ministry, through the application, can facilitate access to its initiatives, provide public health information, locate health centres and also empower the citizens to track and record their health data through the health tools.

When asked about the main idea behind the application, the Deputy Chief Minister Rajaiah Thatikonda, who also has the portfolio of health said that, "The government believes in the best use of technology to enable the delivery of healthcare services to all in need."
