Teens Not Interested in Facebook Places, Foursquare
Teenagers are not attracted by location sharing services such as Foursquare and Facebook Places, reveals survey.

Dubit claims that 48 pc of teenagers have never heard of any location-based social networks while 58 pc of them who have heard are not allured by such services, reports the Telegraph.

Location-sharing services, which allow users to 'check-in' to their location, and then share the information with friends, have become more popular over the last 12 months.

Despite the popularity of digital networks with teens, it has come as a surprising revelation that location sharing does not appear to have caught on yet.

Dubit further said that sixty-seven pc of the 1,000 teens aged 11 to 18 year had heard of these location services, but did not understand them or feel they were safe to use.

Furthermore, only one pc of those polled had heard of smaller services such as Gowalla.

Peter Robinson, head of research at Dubit explains, "when Facebook Places launched much of the criticism was focused at its lack of 'gamification' (games features) - it just didn't look fun."
