 Teen Suffers from Stroke
Kayleigh Ward was grieving over the death of her pet hamster which she had buried in the back yard of her garden, when she keeled over and collapsed with no sensation in her left leg.

She had suffered a massive stroke, something only people over the age of sixty can expect to happen. The stroke was in the right hemisphere of her brain and so had caused paralysis of the left side of her body. Doctors at the Children's Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, where she was taken, are waiting to do a cerebral angiogram that will reveal the cause of the stroke.

Meanwhile, Kayleigh has recovered enough to go back to school, but she has to learn to walk again.

Although it is very rare that young people suffer a stroke, it does happen as it did to this teenager. It is good to be alert to the different signs of a stroke that can include numbness, blurred vision, difficulty in speaking, loss of balance, dizziness, headache and vomiting.
