A government school teacher was booked Thursday in this south Punjab town after two girl students consumed poison alleging humiliation at his hands.
The teacher, Jasbir Singh, has been charged with abetment to suicide after the girls, students of class 11 and 12, consumed poison Wednesday. The school is located in a village near Mansa.
The girls alleged that they had come to the town for shopping but the teacher humiliated them by commenting on their character.
However, the teacher said the girls were framing him and alleged that they had come to Mansa to enjoy themselves in the company of some boys.
