Teacher Imprisoned for Faking Cancer

A Teacher has been imprisoned for faking cancer to obtain donations. The teacher Heather Faria, 27, a former special education teacher has been sentenced to two years in prison, and eight years of probation after pleading guilty to five counts of larceny and one count of gross fraud when she took over $37,00 in donations.

The prosecutors have condemned Faria for claiming to suffer from stomach cancer in 2003 and that she was receiving treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The truth was revealed only after concerned friends visited the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Faria is now forced to repay the money she used for her vacation at St. Martin, jewelry, a big-screen television and cell phones.
